Founded in 2015, the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) envisions a future where everyone has the opportunity to use technology to live, learn, work, and thrive. The organization advances digital equity by supporting community programs and empowering policymakers to take action. Benefactor Group has been a trusted partner of NDIA since 2021, initially engaging to build organizational capacity and enhance project management capabilities. This collaboration established an effective organizational structure with the right roles, personnel, and clear accountabilities. In 2022, Benefactor Group assisted NDIA in implementing a project management system. Most recently, Benefactor Group worked with NDIA to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the organization.
The strategic planning process began with extensive discovery activities, including interviews, focus groups, and a stakeholder survey to gather insights and perspectives. This effort helped identify the organization’s strengths, opportunities, and strategic themes, culminating in a day-long retreat to facilitate further discussion and planning.
The outcome of this process is a strategic framework centered around two key pillars: 1) Solidifying the vitality of the organization and 2) Ensuring the sustainability of the digital equity field. These foundational elements have guided the formulation of several strategic priorities and objectives, along with relevant metrics and desirability levels to achieve their strategic goals.
