About Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, formerly Children’s Memorial Hospital and commonly known as Lurie Children’s, is a nationally recognized leader in pediatric care. Located in Chicago, the hospital provides care for infants, children, teens, and young adults up to age 21 across Illinois and beyond. With 360 beds, a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, and more than 1,665 physicians and 4,000 staff, Lurie Children’s combines expertise and compassion to serve thousands of families each year.

Nonprofit CRM Selection to Support Growth

Lurie Children’s Hospital partnered with Benefactor Group in January 2024 to select a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The process began with a thorough requirements analysis, a review of existing materials, and facilitated cross-departmental meetings to prioritize organizational needs effectively. Benefactor Group generated a requirements report that provided both a strategic overview and detailed checklists for each functional area.

Following this, Benefactor Group conducted a market analysis to ensure a fact-based CRM selection process. This included reviewing vendor proposals, coordinating on-site demos at Lurie Children’s Hospital, performing reference checks, and developing a cost analysis that included an estimated implementation budget.

Finally, Benefactor Group prepared a summary of the selection results and facilitated discussions with key stakeholders, supporting a smooth transition into the next phase of CRM implementation. The engagement ensured efficient project management, strengthened internal systems, and positioned Lurie Children’s Hospital to enhance donor engagement and operational effectiveness.

Nonprofit Technology Consulting for Sustainable Impact

Benefactor Group’s work with Lurie Children’s Hospital highlights the importance of strategic nonprofit consulting, careful planning, and cross-functional collaboration. Each step of the engagement—from information gathering to market review to stakeholder alignment—built a foundation for stronger nonprofit technology systems and more effective fundraising operations.

By providing strategic nonprofit technology consulting and project management guidance, Benefactor Group helped ensure that Lurie Children’s Hospital could maximize its technological investment, support internal teams, and focus on advancing its mission of improving children’s health.

As we commemorate 25 years of serving those who serve the common good, Benefactor Group is proud to celebrate Lurie Children’s Hospital’s story as a testament to the impact of thoughtful planning, strong partnerships, and dedicated leadership.
