Communications Consultant
After working in education and earning a Doctorate in English, Taylor has returned to the nonprofit sector to apply her skills to mission-driven communications. As part of Benefactor Group’s Fundraising Communications team, Taylor specializes in developing compelling cases for support, creating donor-facing materials, and crafting effective fundraising communication strategies. Her education, passion for nonprofits, and strategic writing skills enable her to tell impactful stories that inspire transformative philanthropy.
With a proven track record in creating impact-focused cases for support and innovative donor engagement strategies, Taylor has sparked significant giving for a range of organizations, including those in the arts and culture, social services, advocacy, and higher education sectors. She is adept at translating complex concepts into engaging narratives, striking a balance between data and asset-based storytelling, and assisting clients in articulating their ambitious visions.
Taylor’s dedication to the nonprofit sector began in childhood as a Girl Scout and remains a guiding principle in her life. Recently, she volunteered as the Communications & Development Director for a grassroots LGBTQ+ literary arts magazine and currently supports her local Pride Center and Friends of the Library chapter. Originally from Oregon, Taylor now resides in Indiana with her husband. She holds a BA in English & History and an MA in English from Oregon State University, along with a PhD in English from the University of Washington.
