Joey Scheiber partners with nonprofit organizations to navigate executive leadership transitions and identify leaders who will advance mission and impact. As a member of Benefactor Group’s Talent practice, Joey guides clients through the full executive search process—from discovery and stakeholder engagement through candidate selection, negotiation, and onboarding—helping organizations clarify their vision for the future and connect with leaders who can bring that vision to life. He collaborates closely with boards, executives, and colleagues to ensure searches are thoughtful, inclusive, and aligned with each organization’s values and goals.

Joey brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit executive search and talent strategy, leading searches for organizations across sectors including arts and culture, higher education, human services, healthcare, and social justice. His work has supported the recruitment of chief executive officers, executive directors, chief development officers, and other senior leaders. Known for his collaborative and research-driven approach, Joey works closely with clients and candidates to ensure a search process that is equitable, transparent, and centered on long-term organizational success.

Joey holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Cincinnati. He is an AIRS-Certified Diversity Recruiter and a member of the Network of Nonprofit Search Consultants. He previously served as an Annual Fellow with Chicago’s Development Leadership Consortium and has been active in the nonprofit community through volunteer roles with organizations including Steppenwolf Theater, Chicago Public Schools, and AIDS Foundation of Chicago.
