Summers is a valued advisor to clients engaged in campaign planning and implementation. With a background in nonprofit development operations, grant writing, and project management, Summers has a deep understanding of the essential elements that must come together for a successful campaign. She works closely with clients to assess their readiness, guide them through feasibility studies, and provide strategic counsel throughout the entire fundraising campaign process—helping organizations move from planning to successful implementation with confidence. Summers also has experience helping organizations develop strategic plans and implement philanthropic growth plans to elevate annual giving.
Before joining Benefactor Group, Summers worked as development and grants associate at Local Matters, a Columbus-based nonprofit that builds healthy communities through food education, access, and advocacy. She also served as program coordinator for the global security and international affairs program area at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Boston, MA. There, she managed grant-funded research projects involving academic scholars, political figures, and NGO leaders with international scopes of work.
Summers is based in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Boston College.
