San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House has long served as a “home away from home” for families, providing essential support and proximity to their hospitalized children. By 2022, the house faced a consistent waitlist of over 40 families, highlighting the urgent need for expansion. To address this growing demand, the leadership proposed an ambitious capital campaign to construct 28 new guest suites, which would achieve a 50% increase in lodging capacity.
Benefactor Group partnered with the Ronald McDonald House to assess the feasibility of these plans. A comprehensive planning study confirmed the house’s capacity to raise funds for this vision and identified opportunities for broader aspirations, including the addition of a much-desired pillar of “financial stability” through endowment building and debt relief. As a result, the campaign goal was increased by more than $7 million.
Following this assessment, Benefactor Group began guiding the Ronald McDonald House through the campaign preparation process, including the creation of a comprehensive campaign plan and a compelling case for support.
