Following the departure of the previous Executive Director, Local Matters engaged Benefactor Group in a search for its next leader. With a mission to create healthy communities rooted in access, equity, and collaborative leadership, Local Matters partners with communities to transform their food systems from the ground up, reducing barriers to food access, education, and affordability for generations of Central Ohioans.

Throughout the search, Benefactor Group took great care to provide executive search support while keeping the search committee, board of directors, staff, and community appropriately aware of the process. Our team provided careful guidance to the search committee from the onset through interview and evaluation stages. From the very strong candidate pool that was presented, the board of directors approved the hiring of a long-time local nonprofit leader with extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and a passion for addressing urgent issues in family, child development, and affordable housing.

Under the guidance of the new Executive Director, Local Matters will continue to reach thousands of children and families with comprehensive food education, access, and advocacy programming for years to come.
