Help & Hope Center, dedicated to providing nutritious food, housing support, hope, and a pathway to a brighter future for residents of Douglas and Elbert counties in Colorado, was founded in 1984 as an emergency assistance center. Originally operated by a handful of volunteers in a garage, the organization has grown significantly and now employs 23 staff members and boasts a 300-member volunteer corps.
In 2023, Help & Hope Center engaged Benefactor Group to conduct a feasibility study for a proposed $20 million campaign aimed at establishing a new, purpose-built headquarters. The study aimed to address the increasing demand for services by finding a larger, more convenient, and visible location. Findings from the study revealed that Help & Hope needed to invest in its development department and enhance its relationships with donors before launching the campaign.
In early 2024, Benefactor Group began collaborating with Help & Hope to create a comprehensive development plan and build the development department from the ground up. The planning process revolves around four critical questions: Who are you now? Who could you be? Who will you be? How will you get there? Benefactor Group continues to meet regularly with Help & Hope to monitor progress, provide strategic counsel, and support the implementation of the development plan.
