Franciscan Mission Service is a Washington D.C.-based faith organization serving communities in several countries worldwide. In 2016-2017, Benefactor Group collaborated with the organization on two simultaneous projects: developing a major gifts initiative/plan and conducting a search for a new Executive Director to lead its efforts.

With the Executive Director’s departure at the project’s start, Benefactor Group pivoted to work closely with the board Chair and Assistant Director. Together, we conducted interviews with donors and volunteers, facilitated a survey of the Board of Trustees, analyzed donor data records, and developed a major gifts plan with tactics and financial models to raise additional annual funds for program expansion. Simultaneously, we conducted a national and international search for a new Executive Director, working with the search committee to identify a leader passionate about the organization’s mission and possessing the cultural competence to work effectively with diverse constituents and volunteers. We provided coaching services as the new Executive Director implemented the plan.
