In 2016, Decatur Memorial Hospital celebrated its 100th anniversary, prompting its leadership to consider a capital fundraising campaign with a goal of $10 million. To assess the feasibility of this campaign, the hospital engaged Benefactor Group to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study.
Benefactor Group collaborated with hospital and foundation leaders to review current fundraising practices and materials, draft a preliminary case for support, and establish protocols for individual interviews, focus groups, and an online survey. We also assisted in selecting invitees for the interviews and focus groups.
Following the discovery phase of the study, Benefactor Group consultants analyzed the findings and develop tailored recommendations. We convened with hospital leaders to review these findings and prepare a final report, which was presented to the foundation’s Board of Directors.
