Kelly’s experience as a valued strategic leader will be a tremendous asset to Benefactor Group’s clients embarking on ambitious fundraising campaigns. “We know that for many nonprofits, a campaign is the zenith of their organizational life cycle, and we want to deliver the best possible insights and guidance to our clients,” said Laura MacDonald, Principal and Founder of Benefactor Group. “Kelly’s exceptional background and expertise will strengthen our ability to serve those who serve the common good. Innovation in campaigns often comes from the higher education sector. With Kelly joining the team, fresh from a successful campaign, we look forward to supporting more organizations as they transform their ability to deliver on their mission.”

Kelly moved into leadership roles after a rewarding decade as a direct fundraiser, working closely with faculty and staff to identify fundraising objectives and successfully cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors. As an advancement leader at Eastern Michigan University, she was responsible for annual giving, donor relations, prospect research and management, communications, and strategic reporting. In addition to leading the university’s record-breaking campaign, she also steered the university’s alumni engagement efforts, developing and executing comprehensive strategies to engage various stakeholders.

Moreover, Kelly’s previous experience in fundraising consulting, particularly focusing on feasibility studies and campaign counsel, will bring valuable perspectives to Benefactor Group clients. Her commitment to creating and nurturing supportive, genuine, and collaborative relationships aligns perfectly with Benefactor Group’s values.

“Kelly’s creative energy is a tremendous addition to our team,” said Steve Beshuk, Principal of Benefactor Group. “Her leadership of this crucial service to clients will allow us to fuel causes across the country with powerful fundraising, people, and systems.”
