After working in education and earning a Doctorate in English, Taylor (she/they) returned to the nonprofit sector to devote her skills to mission-driven communications. She leverages her education, passion for nonprofits, and a wealth of strategic writing skills to tell stories and develop communications strategies that catalyze transformative philanthropy. A member of Benefactor Group’s Fundraising Communications team, Taylor supports clients with cases for support, donor-facing communications, and fundraising communications strategy.
Taylor has an impressive track record of crafting impact-driven cases for support and donor engagement strategies that spark major giving to prominent arts and culture, social services, advocacy, and higher education institutions. She excels at distilling complex ideas into inspiring language, balancing data with asset-based storytelling, and helping clients “find the words” they need to express their bold visions.
Taylor’s commitment to the nonprofit sector was sparked in childhood as a Girl Scout, and continues to be her north star. Recently, she served as the volunteer Communications & Development Director for a grassroots LGBTQ+ literary arts magazine, and currently volunteers at her local Pride Center and Friends of the Library chapter. A lifelong nomad, she is from Oregon but currently lives in Indiana with her husband. Taylor holds a BA in English & History and an MA in English from Oregon State University, and a PhD in English from the University of Washington.
