Ohio History Connection (OHC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sparking the discovery of Ohio’s stories. In 2023, the Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks were inscribed as Ohio’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. The eight sites are complex masterpieces of landscape architecture, jointly managed by OHC and the National Park Service. Following the designation, OHC engaged Benefactor Group to conduct a statewide feasibility study in anticipation of a campaign for the earthworks. Benefactor Group tested a $100 million goal and recommended a path forward that included a phased approach to securing both public and private funds. Following the study, OHC partnered with Benefactor Group to conduct an internal readiness assessment, develop a comprehensive case for support and campaign plan, and provide ongoing campaign counsel and coaching. Previously, OHC engaged Benefactor Group for a variety of services, including a successful search for OHC’s Chief Development Officer.
