The Bluegrass Land Conservancy is dedicated to permanently safeguarding Central Kentucky’s invaluable natural resources, ensuring protected farmland, healthy soil, clean waterways, and less polluted air for the state’s residents. In 2023, the Conservancy faced a transformative opportunity with the availability of new federal funds, totaling billions of dollars, to support conservation efforts.

Securing two landmark awards in the first round of funding positioned the Bluegrass Land Conservancy to access even more federal resources. However, to effectively leverage these funds for Kentucky landowners and expand its land protection efforts, the Conservancy needed to significantly enhance its operations.

To facilitate this growth, the Conservancy’s leadership engaged Benefactor Group to assess its campaign potential. Following a thorough campaign planning study, we determined that the Conservancy was ready to launch the most ambitious fundraising effort in its history—a $15 million campaign. The board has since approved our recommendations, and the Conservancy is now preparing to move into the next phase of campaign planning, setting the stage for impactful conservation initiatives across Kentucky.
