Founded in 1948, the Springfield Foundation has a rich history of supporting and improving the quality of life for residents in Clark County, Ohio. With over $110 million in assets, the foundation proudly continues the legacy of community foundations in Ohio—the birthplace of community foundations.

To identify a successor for a long-serving Executive Director who was retiring, the Springfield Foundation retained Benefactor Group for an executive search. Benefactor Group engaged the community through discovery interviews and surveys to determine the desired competencies and attributes for the new leader while developing a robust candidate pool. The thorough search process screened dozens of candidates, resulting in a diverse pool of seven finalists.

The search committee interviewed five candidates, ultimately hiring the foundation’s Director of Grants and Scholarships as its next Executive Director.
