Benefactor Group partnered with O’Bleness Health System in Athens, Ohio, to conduct a comprehensive development assessment and plan in 2012. This assessment aimed to provide a detailed understanding of the hospital’s existing fundraising activities, identify areas for improvement, and explore new opportunities for philanthropic support.

The process included a thorough review of O’Bleness’s current fundraising initiatives, a benchmark analysis comparing the hospital’s philanthropic efforts with those of similarly sized community hospitals across the state, and an evaluation of the potential for increased philanthropic support. By examining the strategies employed by peer institutions, Benefactor Group was able to identify best practices and innovative approaches that could be adapted for O’Bleness.

Upon completion of the development plan, O’Bleness Health System recognized the need for strong leadership to implement the recommendations effectively. Consequently, the hospital retained Benefactor Group to assist in the search and selection of a new development executive. This leader would be responsible for driving the fundraising efforts, engaging the community, and realizing the vision outlined in the development plan. With Benefactor Group’s expertise, O’Bleness Health System is poised to enhance its philanthropic endeavors and strengthen its impact on the health and well-being of the community it serves.
