Leadership Columbus is set to embark on what’s certainly the most unusual year in the community leadership program’s long history.
The organization has chosen its latest class of future community champions, bringing in 58 participants for a hybrid of in-person and virtual training and networking to comply with the realities of life during the global coronavirus pandemic.
This year’s class includes participants from the region’s corporate, nonprofit and government sectors, such as AEP, Crane Group, CoverMyMeds, Nationwide, the city’s police and fire departments, several banks and law firms, and of course, Benefactor Group’s own J.D. Beiting. JD had this to say about the start of the program:
What I look forward to most about Leadership Columbus is to learn from the class of 58 future community leaders. This year’s program will focus on racial justice as a leadership issue in the curriculum. Learning from these other leaders and about the services of Columbus will help me be a better professional and citizen of Columbus. Then, I hope to apply this knowledge to help my clients and those they serve.
