Gumbo, jazz and Mardi Gras….New Orleans has a little bit of everything going on including the 55th Annual Association of Fundraising Professionals International Fundraising Conference April 15-17. Senior Consultant Catherine Fynes will join nearly 3,000 fundraisers from around the world as they get reinvigorated and super-charged about their profession.
AFP has worked since 1960 to inspire global change, with over 30,000 individual and organizational members generating over $100 billion annually. Each year, AFP hosts a conference filled with break-out learning sessions, exhibits and several social gatherings for anyone in the philanthropic community.
With more than 100 education sessions to pick from, Catherine says, “I expect to network, make new friends, and learn from with some of the boldest and brightest fundraising professionals from around the world.”
Catherine serves as President of the Council of Presidents (CPC). In this role, she also serves as the CPC representative at-large director on the International Board of Directors for AFP. She will preside over the council’s meeting of chapter presidents prior to the official start of the conference. And, she will attend her first board meeting.
With the excitement of the community celebrating its 300th anniversary, the ever-vibrant French Quarter, and 3,000 fundraisers in town, Catherine says, “I’m sure to come back inspired, with renewed passion and equipped with the latest information to share with my colleagues, clients, and Central Ohio AFP board where I also serve as this year’s president.”
